The Soils Department has been providing drainfield design services since the beginning of the company in 1970.  Headed by James Sutton, the Soils Department designs septic systems and performs other waste water management design services for developments as small as a single family residence to multi-unit developments and commercial sites.

Dependant on the site specific conditions, a standard design could be either a gravity system, mound system, pressure system or drip system.  Alternative septic system designs may be required for difficult building sites such as wet sites, rocky sites, sites with limited space, sites with bad soils having no percolation or sites with sandy soils having fast percolation.
